Golf Club 2012

In the past 3 years, Wits Golf Club has averaged around 75 members annually. Although Wits does not have a golf course per se the club makes use of courses in the area to play different events. Besides the well respected Wits Open, which is played every year to determine the University’s championship golfer, the club also have a number of other events and competitions throughout the year. 

The club has a close relationship with The Wits Golf Academy on the West Campus. Greg Smith is the residential Pro at the range and is always available to teach all ranges of players from beginners to more accomplished players. The range is
open 6 days a week Monday to Saturday from 8am to 7pm. Special rates are available for club members.

The club also selects a team to play in the annual USSA universities tournament every year in December. The event consists of an Individual Stroke play format over the first two days. The last part of the tournament is a Team Match play format to determine the champion university.
