Wits Flying Club

Interested in aviation? Wits Flying Club is the place for you. We welcome students, aviators and anyone who shares an interest in flying to gather
and enjoy the common bond of aviation in a fun and challenging environment.

Based at Lanseria International Airport, Wits Flying Club is registered with the Civil Aviation Authority as a training organisation. We offer all forms of
fixed wing flight training from ab-initio to advanced, including ratings on twin engined aircraft, night, instrument and instructor ratings. The theoretical studies are well catered for with regular ground school courses covering the required subjects such as navigation, human performance, meteorology etc. The written examination of these subjects can be completed in our CAA approved on-line centre located at the clubhouse. We also offer a CAA approved procedural trainer simulator on which a number of hours can be logged towards obtaining a licence.

 Learning to fly is easy with Wits. We have a dedicated volunteer staff that will arrange an introductory flight and make all the necessary arrangements to ensure your air experience is fun and exciting. You can log your hours from your first intro flight towards obtaining your Student Pilots Licence that will enable you to fly under certain conditions as part of your training towards obtaining your Private Pilots Licence. Being medically fit is a pre-requisite
to fly and obligatory excess insurance can be arranged through the club. Flying lessons are charged on a per flight basis.
