Welcome to the Faculty of Health Sciences

The Faculty of Health Sciences provides excellent support and training for students which contributes to the development of their scientific competencies. The Faculty takes great pride in the excellence of its researchers, its research, and its training.

The teaching of health professionals is conducted across a wide range of environments from the rural areas of Mpumalanga and the North West to the sprawling campus of Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital. The central principle of this exposure is that students learn alongside patients at all levels of the health system. Students’ learning is supported by innovation in technology such as the flipped classroom; web-based learning materials, and podcasting of lectures.  The high levels of student achievement at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels are a testament to the quality of students who study in this Faculty.
