Provided that: Maths HG ? at least a C symbol is obtained (except for Mining where a D symbol for Maths HG is acceptable), a minimum of a C symbol for Physical Science HG and, a minimum of a D symbol for English HG (1st or 2nd language)

Selection tests
Applicants may be required to attend an interview.
NOTE Due to the limited number of places available, meeting the likely acceptance level does not guarantee admission. Selection will be based on final grade 12 results.

Acceptance dependent on departmental selection procedures. Applicants are required to complete a written and graphic exercise and will be required to attend an interview. Applicants with a points rating of 23 and above may be accepted on this basis. Applicants with between 18 and 22 points may be accepted an the basis of the exercise and an interveiw for either the ordinary degree or an extended curriculum programme.

Several criteria considered for selection (eg academic performance, biographical questionnaire, placement tests)

Some applicants may be invited for an interview by the Faculty of Health Sciences on the basis of their academic performance and biographical questionnaire. If you are applying to the Health Sciences, you will not be selected solely on your matric results, although they are very important. You must complete the biographical questionnaire included in the Guide for Applicants and return it to the Student Enrolment Centre by the end of June 2010.

ALL applicants are required to write the placement test.

Selection test for applicants with a points rating between 14 ? 21. However, applicants with 22 points or more but who do not have the subject grouping indicated in column 2 may have to write the selection tests.

Bachelor of Education (4 yrs) - BEd

Subject to further selection procedures, applicants with a Senior Certificate and 3 HG credits, including English (1st or 2nd language) may be considered.
Mathematics HG or min 60% SG and Physical Science HG or min 60% SG are recommended for the specialisation in Physical Science; and Mathematics HG or min 60% SG for the Mathematics specialisation

Normally 18 points and above ? Consideration may also be given to applicants with a lower rating, subject to further selection procedures.
