Graduate Recruitment Programme (GRP) 2013 Information on Graduate Recruitment Programmes and the University Student Employment Office Important Information for Recruiters:To participate in any of the GRP Events, please contact the GRP Office first. Contact details are 011 717 9143 or GRP.CCDU@wits.ac.za 1. Student Privacy and release of student contact details:
2. Company Registration: All participating companies in the Graduate Recruitment Programme are expected to complete a registration form. The form serves as a record of the services that a recruiting company requests, company contact details and a description of the company as a desirable employer. This information will be used in the Graduate Recruitment Programme booklet that is distributed to all final year students. It is also important that companies inform the GRP Office as early as possible of any changes to these details. Please note that the registration form needs to be typed out and emailed back to the GRP office.3. Student Participation: It has in the past been the experience of the Unit that recruiters expect large turnouts at all presentations. The Unit acknowledges that student culture and behaviour in respect of recruitment and preparation for the world of work differs from campus to campus and every effort is made to develop students for the world of work and the job search process. However, student participation in the Graduate Recruitment Programme and related events is voluntary. 4. Career Fairs: The Unit will host 5 career fairs this year. A career fair is a fun and informative day for both recruiters and students. This day is marketed to students via posters on campus, media, Wits Clips, Intranet, student newspaper, leaflets as well as a general email and sms to all final year students and registered GRP students. Should a company wish to enhance their visibility, they are welcome to provide the Unit with posters that can be displayed on campus. Ten (10 x A3) posters are usually sufficient for this purpose. 5. Presentations:
6. Foyer Interviews: Companies wishing to have a presence on campus but do not want to do presentations or be part of a careers fair are welcome to do foyer interviews. Foyer interviews are similar to career fairs except that only one company is accommodated in the foyer area of the building closest to targeted students. 7. On Campus Interviews:
8. Annual Graduate Recruitment Booklet: Companies that would like to be listed in the booklet are requested to complete the relevant section in the Registration Form. Companies that would like to enhance their visibility on campus are also welcome to explore the advertisement options in the booklet. 9. GRP Employed Graduates: Companies are requested to submit a list of all Wits graduates employed through the GRP office once offers have been signed to: grp.ccdu@wits.ac.za 10. Evaluation Forms: In trying to keep up with service excellence and ensuring that the Careers Centre continues to keep up with recruitment requirements, companies are urged to complete an evaluation form after participating in any of the GRP events. Important Dates to Remember:
