West Campus Cluster

This popular cluster comprises three modern residences situated between the academic buildings and the sports fields on the West Campus and houses more senior students. From here, the AMIC deck provides quick and safe access to the East Campus.


Mixed gender, senior undergraduates and postgraduates

  • Housing: 370 students
  • Meals: Catering and self-catering options
  • Amenities: TV rooms, a laundry, tuck shop, computer centre, group study and tutorial rooms, and a pool table.
  • Barnato Hall houses students from 2nd year undergraduates to postgraduate level, and is in close proximity to the Faculties of Law, Engineering and Commerce.
  • All students have single rooms.  
  • Self-catering students live in self-contained sections of the residence each with its own kitchenette and dining area.
  • Easy access to a modern squash centre, gymnasium and sports fields.
  • Fees include inter-campus transport and the use of laundry facilities

  • Housing: 217 students
  • Meals: Catering provided
  • Amenities: Large courtyards that can be used for entertainment and relaxation areas, TV rooms, a large main lounge, a reading room where newspapers are delivered daily, a committee room, computer center, a tuck shop, a table tennis room, and a laundry.
  • Each student has his/her own study/bedroom with beautiful furnishings and study facilities. 
  • Easily accessible rooms for disabled students are located on the ground floor with specially designed bathrooms permitting wheelchair access. 
  • A well-equipped laundry is provided for the residents. 
  • Squash courts, tennis courts, a gymnasium and soccer fields are close at hand.
  • Fees include inter-campus transport and the use of laundry facilities


Mixed gender, senior postgraduates (Ie. Masters and Doctoral students only)

  • Housing: 189 students
  • Meals: Self-catering
  • Amenities: Communal laundry facilities, a TV lounge and a computer mini-lab are located in the community centre below the village. 
  • West Campus Village is situated near the Convocation Dining Hall on the West Campus, and overlooks a beautiful pond. 
  • Ground floor access for persons with disabilities has been provided. 
  • All students have single rooms that contain a kitchenette, ablution facilities and a sleeping/study area. The rooms are fully furnished. 
  • Sporting facilities such as soccer fields, squash courts and a multi-use gym are within walking distance.
  • Fees include inter-campus transport and the use of laundry facilities
