The 400-bed "EOH" is difficult to photograph because it is surrounded by so many trees. Popular with engineering and medical students, this residence has a strong academic ethos.
Facilities include two TV lounges, a games/assembly lounge, a study room, a computer centre, a gym, tennis court, large swimming pool and squash court.
EOH traditionally houses medical and engineering students.

KNOCKANDO HALLS OF RESIDENCE - males only, catering

The Knockando Halls of Residence (Lighton Hall and Williams Hall) on the crest of the Parktown Ridge are just north of the new Wits University Donald Gordon Medical Centre (formerly the Kenridge Hospital) and is ten minutes walk from the Medical School, five minutes from the former JCE campus, and only three minutes from EOH and the Wits Business School. "Knock", as the res is affectionately known, accommodates 400 male undergraduates. A phased renovation of the entire residence is well underway.
The spectacular site overlooks the northern suburbs of Johannesburg, and has wonderful grounds and extensive facilities including:

PARKTOWN VILLAGE I - mixed gender, self-catering
Comprising 20 eight-roomed communal houses, this is the oldest of the University s student villages. Facilities include laundries, a computer room, games/ TV room, swimming pool and tennis court.
