The Orientation programme features a variety of workshops and activities to address the needs of new students, including campus tours, meeting faculty and staff, numerous campus resource seminars and many fun events.  During orientation and registration you will meet Witsies who will be available to help you and advise you. We are delighted that you will be enrolling at WITS and hope that your experience at WITS will be successful and enjoyable.


The aim of the Orientation programme is to ensure students will:  

  • Become more familiar with the campus
  • Identify the resources available aiding in their academic success
  • Begin developing relationships with our dynamic faculty and staff
  • Foster student engagement
  • Prepare students to navigate their new academic environment

WELCOME DAY
SUNDAY 3 FEB 2013

Meet the Vice-Chancellor,members of the Senior ExecutiveTeam, the Dean of Students, the Student Representative Council(SRC) President and many other members of staff as they welcome you to the WITS community. Parents and students will have an opportunity to engage with Witsies and explore the campus. Following the formalities a light lunch will be served with loads of entertainment.

Come explore the variety of food outlets available across Wits and get a taste of what they have to offer, while being entertained by Voice of Wits. REA VAYA

The Rea Vaya is a rapid bus service that students can use to travel to Braamfontein, the CBD, Hilbrow, Ellis Park, Soweto and Eldorado Park. Visit Rea Vaya’s stall at the West Campus during orientation week from 4 - 8 Feb, to register for free a travel card and your free tour of Joburg, With Rea Vaya you can travel smarter, faster and safely!

NIGHT OWLS

At Wits we work hard and party hard, but always responsibly. These events start at dusk and we party ontill the break of dawn.
