Wits Rural Facility is a bird lovers paradise with a verified birdlist of 198 species.

This list has recently been updated and is being distributed to all our visitors with a challenge to add to the list by identifying additional species.

Wits Rural Facility does not keep the Big 5 on the property, only Plains Game, although the occasional Leopard has been spotted at night, in the bushveld. It is therefore not advisable to venture into the bushveld alone and especially not at night.

There is an abundance and prolific amount of indigenous plant species. A tree spotting walk could prove to be very rewarding.
