Lecturer in Archaeology
The Archaeology Division of the School of Geography, Archaeology and Environmental Studies (GAES) at the University of the Witwatersrand (Johannesburg) invites applicants for a full-time permanent Lecturer in Archaeology, to begin teaching in mid-2013. We seek an individual with a PhD in Archaeology and a specialty in one or more of the following fields: zooarchaeology; archaeo-botany; quantitative methods; heritage impact assessment (CRM). Applicants should have excellent scholarly credentials, an emerging research program and preference will be given to candidates with a strong teaching and publication record.
Responsibilities will include undergraduate as well as postgraduate teaching and supervision, research and publication, plus service to the School of GAES.
