The Robert Hodgins Print Archive was established in 2007 when renowned South African artist Robert Hodgins donated 400 prints from his personal collection to Wits Art Museum. This exhibition presents a selection of the finest examples from the archive with works dating from 1971 to 2009. The works range widely in theme yet all display the artist’s critical and historically informed engagement with the human figure. Works in progress, artist’s notes and process materials are also included. The exhibition is accompanied by a full colour illustrated catalogue. There will be free-of-charge TALKABOUTS on the exhibition on Saturdays, 9 and 23 March 2013, and a special children’s TALAKBOUT on 16 March 2013 – all at 12:00.
