
The School of Statistics and Actuarial Science hosts a seminar on Electrical Energy Forecasting: A Complicated Business by Dr Vincent Micali, Corporate Specialist (Business Sciences), Eskom Research & Innovation Centre. Electrical Energy Forecasting is a necessary function for production and revenue planning. From a very short term to short term perspective, it is necessary for the operating mix of the Generating plant. From short to medium term perspective, it is necessary for production & financial plans as well as tariff setting. From a long term perspective, forecasts are used for new build or mothballing. This presentation will briefly illustrate the drivers and some of the dynamics in Electrical Energy Forecasting.
