Wits Seminar on Violence Series

The Social Work and Development Institute (SWOP) is hosting The Wits Seminar on Violence with different talks each month from now until November. The seminar incorporates various disciplines and research programmes. It aims to stimulate conversation between scholars, practitioners and the public, and focusses on the significance and meaning of violence; on theory and violence; and on the possibilities of violence reduction. For this month's seminar, Swop is hosting Franziska Rueedi from Oxford University who will deliver a lecture entitled Narratives on Trial: The Vaal Uprising as an Event and Discourse.
