Effective and Efficient Communication in Clinical Practice

The Family Medicine Department is hosting Dr Mamsallah Faal-Omisore who will deliver a talk entitled: “They don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care”: Conversations on effective and efficient communication in clinical practice. Faal, a clinical lecturer in the Family Medicine Department, is a family physician who has been involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education for over ten years in the UK and South Africa. She has special interests in infectious diseases and communication skills training. She is a Faculty presenter for the Medical Protection Society. Faal’s presentation will focus on: the role of communication in ensuring quality health care relationships and the importance of communication as a risk management strategy.
