
The Department of Sociology, Wits University and the Harold Wolpe Memorial Trust is presenting the Wolpe Dialogue in honour of the late Harold Wolpe, renowned academic and activist. The department will be hosting Hanneen Zoabi, Palestinian political and human rights activist.
Zoabi talk is entitled Palestinians in Israel: From oppressed national minority to catalysts for change. She is a leading member of the National Democratic Assembly, a party representing the Palestinian national minority in Israel. Since 2009 she has been a member of the Israeli parliament, and has used her position to campaign for human and political rights for all.
This event is co-organized with the Afro-Middle East Centre. The Wolpe Dialogues are funded by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, South Africa.
