Researchers who are registered students at South African or foreign universities are invited to submit abstracts for consideration. Twelve papers will be selected for presentation in a special student session, where the established researchers attending the conference will be invited to offer advice on how the student papers can be improved (if necessary) so that they will be publishable. It is hoped that participation in an event of this nature will benefit the students in their careers, by raising their public profile, giving them the opportunity to publish a refereed article, and putting them in contact with eminent international and national scholars in the fields of phonetics and phonology. The students who take part in the special session will be charged no conference fee.
Cheaper accommodation will be available at one of the University Residences: see Accommodation.
If you wish your abstract to be considered for the student session, please mark your manuscript ‘Student’, and include the word ‘Student’ in the subject line of the email containing your abstract.
