We send our warmest congratulations to the head of our Environmental Justice programme on the completion of his PhD
CALS is very pleased to announce that our Louis Snyman has been approved for the award of his PhD in environmental law. Louis completed the degree through the Wits School of Law while working full-time as an attorney and head of the Environmental Justice Programme at CALS. His thesis examines the conceptual and legal frameworks for spatial planning and environmental management in sensitive areas and argues that these functions can be better integrated through environmental spatial planning. His work develops this framework through a detailed empirical case study of development in the Mapungubwe National Park and World Heritage Site. We could not be more proud of our colleague and hope you join us in sending our warmest congratulations on this huge achievement.
