Living lab coming to Braam
- By Wits University
IBM Research is opening its second Africa lab – this time in Braamfontein, Johannesburg.
IBM will be the anchor tenant in a new high-tech hub that's being established by Wits University with the support from government.
This will be a living laboratory where IBM researchers collaborate with students, faculty members, entrepreneurs and investors to develop solutions to South Africa's challenges – including healthcare, urbanization and the skills gap.
Steve Hamm talks about Braamfontein’s rebirth in his blogpost Jo’burg Rising: A Tale of Urban Renewal on IBM’s Smarter Planet Blog.
