- By Wits University

The 2014 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination results was released by the Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga, on Tuesday, 6 January 2015.

The results of the NSC exams are eagerly awaited annually by the public as they are one of the key barometers that measure the health of the education system in South Africa. Furthermore, matric acts as the entry point for positions in the workforce and in higher education.

A total of 688 660 candidates registered to write the 2014 matric examination, of which 550 127 were full-time candidates and 138 533 were part-time.

In anticipation of the annual demand for experts who can comment on the matric results, Wits Communications has compiled a list of academics from the Wits School of Education who will be available to comment on their respective fields of expertise.
