International Open Access Week has been celebrated at Wits for the past few years.  In 2012 Open Access events were organised to celebrate Open Access Week.  Various libraries highlighting Open Access resources and promotional information about Open Access. A number of Faculty Research Committee meetings had Open Access on their agendas during October and November 2012. The highlight of Open Access Week 2012 celebrations was on 9 November 2012, when the SPARC Open Access Seminar took place on campus and when Wits signed the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to the Sciences and Humanities.  See Wits’ Commitment to Open Access above.
