Martienssen library
The MARTIENSSEN LIBRARY FOR THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT situated on the 1st floor of the John Moffat Building, East Campus, to the west of the swimming pool. It serves the following Schools:
- Architecture and Planning
- Construction Economics & Management
ACCESS
Admission to the Martienssen Library is automatically granted through the use of the Wits Staff/Student/Visitors card. Access is gained by swiping this card through the card reader at the door. Cards are issued to users on registration and are the responsibility of the individual. They may not be used by unauthorized users, neither may cards be exchanged.

All Wits Libraries operate on the same system and are linked. Regular training courses are offered to library users in the ECR (Electronic Classroom) in Wartenweiler Library. The manual card catalogue, housed in the reading area, has not been maintained since 1996.

INTERLIBRARY LOANS
Books or journal articles not in the Wits Library may be requested via the Interlibrary Loan System (ILL). This service is available for postgraduate students and Wits Staff only. Requests can be made via the e-Wits catalogue.
