Academic Guidance

Examinations

All of the University’s examination sessions are scheduled, organised and run by the Examinations and Graduation Office. The two major sessions take place in June and November respectively. In addition there are supplementary and deferred examinations in January and Health Sciences examinations which run in May and October respectively.

Graduations

The University runs approximately 18 graduation ceremonies annually and it is the responsibility of the Examinations and Graduation Office to co-ordinate the ceremonies, keep records of each ceremony procedures and print the degree/diploma certificates.

Login to our flexible, user-friendly, software package for online course development and management. It is a supplement to face-to-face lectures that will improve the learning experience for all students - especially those who want to learn at their own pace and those who have a visual learning style. Access the student portal to check your email, calendar and applicatons online.

  • In Column B (Course Code) on the Lecture sheet you will notice a drop down arrow - click on it
  • Uncheck the “(Select All)” Check Box
  • Select all your courses and click the OK button
  • Only your courses will be shown - Look at the slot column to identify your specific lecture
  • Tutorials will be assigned to you on your first lecture, please see departmental notice boards.

First year experience

The First Year Experience (FYE) programme empowers and supports first year students to achieve academic success. It provides a student-centred developmental experience through a vibrant co-curricular programme. Sign up for the FYE programme at the SDLU, CCDU and First Year Experience offices (SH037A, ground floor, Senate House).
All FYE programmes are free.
