International Corporate Governance Conference

Corporate Governance: Much ado about nothing or strategic value added?

22 - 23 October 2012

You are invited to attend the International Corporate Governance Conference (ICGC) hosted by the Wits School of Accountancy, aimed at stimulating formal research into all aspects of corporate governance. Research falling into the following broader categories will be considered:

Auditing (including broad forms of assurance);
Business ethics and management;
Corporate sustainability reporting;
Financial reporting;
Integrated reporting;
Incidents, causes and effects of corporate corruption and malfeasance
Strategy – pertaining specifically to corporate governance and integrated reporting;
Legal and compliance issues in connection with corporate governance and integrated reporting; and
Accounting Education.

The conference will provide a platform for both established and emerging researchers to share their work and receive constructive criticism from both their peers and those in practice. Doctoral and Masters Students are encouraged to share their research, including work in progress, at the Postgraduate Colloquium.

Abstract/ condensed papers submission deadline:	30 August 2012
Notification of abstract acceptance:	30 August 2012
Final copy of full paper due:	30 September 2012

Final author payment date:	20 September 2012

Publication Opportunity

Opportunities for publication will be discussed during the conference.

Delegates

Those wishing to attend the conference without presenting a paper are welcome to register from 1 September 2012.

Fees

Registration fees for all delegates are ZAR1500 for presenters from South African Institutions and USD250 for other delegates.

The registration fees quoted includes:

Complimentary drink at the pre-conference registration.
Entrance to all conference sessions.
Refreshments and lunch on both days of the conference.
An electronic copy of the conference proceedings.
A conference bag and associated materials.
A conference dinner on Tuesday 23^rd October. The cost to bring a guest is ZAR300.
