Higher Education Facilities Management Association (HEFMA) Conference 2012

15 - 19 October 2012

Wits University in collaboration with the Higher Education Facilities Management Association (HEFMA) will be hosting a Facilities Management conference themed Facilities Managers Sustaining the Past, Managing the Present and Gearing for the Future.  The theme seeks to integrate and link the management of historical/heritage infrastructure, the need for expansion and new infrastructure and sustainability respectively.

 The Higher Education Facilities Management Association (HEFMA) is a body comprising facilities practitioners in higher education institutions, primarily Universities, in South Africa and Southern Africa respectively and focuses on the management of infrastructure and related services.  HEFMA traditionally convenes a conference annually in the month of October. The 2012 conference will be hosted by Wits University at the Wits Club, Wits Braamfontein Campus from 15 to 19 October 2012.

The conference objectives among others are primarily;

  • information dissemination
  • showcasing and sharing best practice in facilities management and related services
  • providing a learning experience and an opportunity for practitioners to learn from each other
  • providing a networking opportunity amongst practitioners
  • highlighting successes and challenges in facilities management and related services 

Call for conference papers

Conference papers are invited from those wishing to make presentations at the conference. Papers for presentation should be in line with the above theme. Submit a 300 word abstract and short biographical note. Deadline for submission is 31 August 2012. For more details email mxolisi.dube@wits.ac.za
