Are you considering university as the first step of your career? Or perhaps you are already committed to a career path, but feeling dissatisfied or uncertain about your current degree or combination of courses?

If you fall into the above categories, the Counselling and Careers Development Unit offers programmes designed for grade 11 and 12 students, tertiary students, and adults wanting to make mid-career changes.

Career Education:

CCDU offers 40-minute sessions with Career Educators with whom you can discuss career planning and decision-making. This service is available to prospective students, mid-career changers and current students.

Opening Hours:  Mondays to Fridays from 08:00 - 16:30.

We regret that we are unable to arrange University parking for clients utilising these services.

Please note that Career Education sessions are available by appointment only.

Psychometric Career Assessment:

This programme uses both computerised and written psychometric assessment tools to evaluate your aptitude, interests, personality and values.

The Psychometric Career Assessment offered by the Counselling & Careers Development Unit has been specifically designed for school learners who are considering university study, current university students and adults considering mid-career changes.

This is a holistic programme that also includes consideration of biographical and emotional information in order to facilitate comprehensive and effective career planning.  Client results, career plans and concerns will be discussed in an individual counselling feedback session with a professional. Parents or partners are welcome to attend the latter 45 minutes of the feedback session.

Sessions:  This programme is conducted over 2 sessions, session 1 for the Assessment and session 2 for the Feedback.  An appointment for the feedback session is made on the day of the assessment, and is usually made  5 working days after the assessment.

When:  The programme runs from mid - January to the end of November.  Assessments are conducted on most Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and also some selected Saturdays.  Please inquire at reception as to availability of assessment dates.  A Saturday session has been scheduled for 4 March.
