Currently, researchers and Research Ethics Committee members confront difficult moral, ethical and legal dilemmas when their work involves such populations. This is especially so in international research in developing regions where sponsors are from the developed world. Hence careful analysis and action has become imperative regarding research conducted in this context. The objectives of this intensive workshop are to expose researchers and Research Ethics Committee (REC) members to current issues and critical thought in health research in an effort to promote their development as researchers and reviewers that are competent in research ethics; and to familiarize REC members with the ethics review process. Dates: 20 - 24 February 2012 Successful candidates will receive a Certificate of Competence upon completion. Enquiries and/or Registration: Jillian Gardner Kurium Govender |
