Urban Resilience and Spatial Justice Phd Bursaries
Urban Resilience and Spatial Justice
NRF funded (CUBES/School of Architecture and Planning at Wits University, Urban Future Centre at DUT and Dept of Urban and Regional Planning at University of Venda) – 2 bursaries at Wits, all applicants must be SA citizens or residents, full-time only (allowing 12 hours work/week).
Resilience and spatial justice in the built environment has implications at various scales and in different intensities of urban formations. This project encourages prospective PhD applicants to articulate research topics that explore these critical themes in relation to space at different levels, from buildings through precincts to towns and cities, and also in relation to rural villages, small towns through to metropolitan cities in South Africa. Thus the project brings together and into conversation a variety of contexts and angles on the overarching question of resilience and spatial justice.
The bursary call us open until 15 April 2017, but applications will be considered as soon as received and the call closed once the two bursaries are awarded.
