A happy halo-versary

Many thanks for the pictures of the beautiful halo which appeared over Wits on the day of our 40th wedding anniversary (WITSReview January 2011).

My wife Pitta and I were married on 1 November 1970 when I was in final year Elec Eng at Wits, she having graduated the previous year with a BSc Botany. She went on to become a famous author of gardening books using indigenous South African plants (one book currently in its fourth printing),  and I....well, I went on to enjoy being her partner for 40 years and counting! We realized when we saw the halo that it had appeared especially for us, on our anniversary and over the University where we met. We are, of course, thankful that so many others were given a chance to see and enjoy it as well!
