Biometric access cards for alumni
Wits is adopting a biometric system to control campus access
The new system is based on card and fingerprint recognition. You will need to register your details on the new system to get access to campus. After 30 April 2018, old cards will not provide access to campus, regardless of their expiry date.
To upgrade your card to the biometric system:
If you already have an active alumni card, please bring it with you to one of these places:
|East Campus:||Kudu Card Office, Concourse, Ground Floor
Solomon Mahlangu House
|West Campus:||Concourse, First National Bank Building|
|Wits Education Campus:||Kudu Card Office, 1st Floor, Admin Block|
|Wits Management Campus:||Kudu Card Office, 1st Floor, Donald Gordon Building|

There is no fee to upgrade an existing active card before 30 April 2018.
After 30 April 2018, old cards will not provide access to campus, regardless of their expiry date.
If you have lost your card you will need to visit the Alumni Office for a new biometric card, for which a charge will be levied.
If you choose to get an alumni card after 30 April 2018 at Alumni House, you will get the new (biometric) type of card. There will be a fee, as usual, for new cards and annual renewals.
