All students intending to do a BSc Degree will need to work out their own curriculum.
The BSc programme is flexible and it provides students with an opportunity to structure or ‘design’ their own curriculum. Units may run for a year or for only part of a year. Every unit has points value and a certain number of points are needed in order to complete the programme. You are encouraged to seek advice on how to plan your curriculum.
During enrolment, you will be given a Rules and Syllabus Booklet which explains the rules in more detail, as well as a timetable showing all the units offered. However, the information which follows is designed to introduce you to the curriculum and help you with preliminary planning.
The BSc curriculum is based on a point system. Each unit carries a number of points, defined both by level and duration. You are required to complete 396 points of which 240 points must be achieved from level II and level III, including 72 points from a level III unit (major).
Level I = 36 points
Level II = 48 points
Level III = 72 points
Option A
4 x level I units = 144 points
2 x level II units = 96 points 240 points or more at this level
2 x level III units = 144 points
TOTAL = 384 points
Option B
