
| Masters level courses are intended to prepare students for the professional Fellowship examinations. STAT7042- Life Assurance I These courses will consist of two-hours of lectures each week plus two half-day workshops towards the end of the course. The following courses are on offer (if numbers warrant): STAT7040- Health Insurance Topics may also be taken from Advanced Mathematics of Finance Students with an honours degree or equiavlent may register for a Masters degree by course work and research report. The course work component consists of 6 topics: a maximum of one topic may be a 28 point honours module, and students will be granted exemption from a maximum of two topics if they have passed Fellowship papers of the Institute of Faculty of Actuaries. The course work may be spread over two years, with at least 2 topics in each year. Students who have passed the coursework component will be eligible for the Post Graduate Diploma in Science, if they do not intend to complete the research report. A Masters degree may alternatively be attained by dissertation only. Masters Courses in Mathematical Statistics The following courses are on offer (if numbers warrant): STAT500 - Dynamic Programming Topics may also be taken from Advanced Mathematics of Finance Students with an honours degree or equivalent may register for a Masters degree by course work and research report.
