Funding

The University Research Council (URC) provides a limited number of Postdoctoral Fellowships. For details see : URC Research Committee Postdoctoral Fellowships.

Funding for postdoctoral studies is available from the NRF. The "NRF Free-Standing Postdoctoral Fellowship: Research in South Africa" grant is available for South African citizens and foreign candidates for research in South Africa. Closing dates are 31 January and 31 July each year. For the application process, please apply online at http://www.nrf.ac.za

Claude Harris Leon Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowships
The CH Leon Foundation offers postdoctoral fellowships, tenable at South African universities, to suitable applicants who hold a doctorate in Physical or Medical Science or Engineering. Application forms and supporting information may be downloaded from http://www.leonfoundation.co.za
