The Wits Research Report

Wits is one of only three universities in Africa that features in the top 400 (from amongst 23,000 universities worldwide) in three separate international rankings as a leading institution in the world. It is one of only two South African universities that continues to publish extensively in high-impact ISI-accredited journals. Through our 15 South African Research Chairs, seven research institutes, 20 research units, 10 research groups, three Centres of Excellence, two ANDI Centres of Excellence and over 220 NRF-rated scientists, Wits is committed to producing research that is relevant, challenging and innovative.
