APPOINTMENT PROCEDURE
Proposed appointments in all four categories must in the first instance be recommended by the Executive of the School or Research Entity concerned. In categories A and B above, the final decision is taken by the appropriate Dean(s). In categories C and D, the final decision is taken by the Faculty Staffing and Promotions Committee, chaired by a Deputy Vice-Chancellor.
STATUS
Honorary Research staff normally describe themselves as such, in relation to any of their publications whilst holders of this office. An appointment is made on the understanding that it does not confer membership of the School in which the appointment occurs. Nevertheless, the name of the person appointed will be listed in the University Calendar and her/his publications will also be included in lists of School publications. Where the usual Department of Education criteria are satisfied, the publications will be subsidy-earning.
