All Wits academics that have recently received NRF ratings were congratulated during a celebration that took place in the Wits Art Museum on 29 November 2012. This annual event is attended by many of Wits’ NRF rated researchers and is designed to express the gratitude of the University for their hard work that is invested in order to secure a rating. The celebratory meeting was opened by the DVC Research, Prof Helen Laburn. The keynote address was given by Prof Glenda Gray of the Health Science Faculty. Amongst the 23 new ratings awarded in 2012 thus far, two were at the International Leading Scholar level, also known as ‘A’ ratings, namely Prof Gray and Prof Fazal Mahomed.
