Registration and Information

Entry Requirements

Participants are expected to have minimum of an undergraduate degree or professional education qualification, two years work experience and should be currently working in education or curriculum leadership, management, policy or planning related to the use of ICTs in schools or colleges.

In addition, participants will be expected to have competence in basic computer literacy, meaning working knowledge of the Microsoft office suite or equivalent, and established ability to use the Internet and communicate via email.

Applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements could be considered subject to the approval of the Senate of the University of the Witwatersrand.

Course fees for 2012:
The course fee per participant is ZAR15000 or $2500 (depending on the exchange rate) and has to be paid on registration. Payments in installments can be negotiated.  You are responsible for ensuring that the fee is paid. The fee includes attendance of the residential course, supervision of distance learning and course material. It does not include accommodation or transport. Payment information can be found on the registration form.

4th Cohort 

Course Duration: 6 August 2012 – 8 February 2013
Registration Opens: 2 July 2012

Residential Workshop: 3 September – 7 September 2012

Accommodation and Transport

Information can be supplied on request about accomodation at the university residences from Thandy.molapo@wits.ac.za For example, Reith Hall is a residence of the University situated within easy walking distance of the Education Campus. Participants will be required to provide their own  transport to and from Oliver Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg).

Alternatively, students may organize their own accommodation in hotel or bed and breakfast establishments close to the Education Campus. Thandy.molapo@wits.ac.za will be happy to send you a list of recommended establishments. Participants who choose this option will be responsible for their own transport, both to and from airports, and daily to the course venue on the Education Campus.
