Oral Pathology

The Division of Oral Pathology is a Division of the Department of Pathology in the School of Pathology, Faculty of Health Sciences. Services are also rendered to the School of Oral Health Science in both the teaching of under- and post-graduate students and supervision of post-graduate research.

Training of Specialists in Oral Pathology and in Anatomical Pathology.

Diagnostic Service. A service in diagnostic Oral Pathology is rendered in terms of an agreement with the Department of Anatomical Pathology and National Health Laboratory Services. The range of cases is both varied and challenging and forms the basis of extensive archives which are available for research.

In addition a slide teaching exchange program is conducted with 15 other departments of Oral Pathology mainly in the United States. This has resulted in the availability of over 300 sets of teaching slides .
