Kevin is interested in all aspects of ethics, particularly applied ethics.  His research focus in the past few years has been on African Thought and Philosophy and Environmental Ethics.  He is keen on developing this work further by researching some of the implications of African Philosophy and Thought for Bioethics.

 
    
Dr Bazil Shaughn Fick

Dr Fick is a Medical Practitioner, an Anaesthetist and an Ethicist with an interest in business management.  He strives to keep informed in new developments in his fields of expertise in order to offer the best care to his patients at Garden City Clinic, Fordsburg Clinic and at his private practice in Eldorado Park.  Dr Fick serves on the boards of Unicoc Investments, Andryan Investments and Fordsburg Clinic – all of which he Chairs.

Professor Merryll Vorster

Qualifications: MBBCH (Wits), MMed Psychiatry (Wits), BA (UNISA), PhD Medicine (Wits), Certificate in Medicine and Law (UNISA), Dip. International Research Ethics (UCT).
Professor Vorster is Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. She is a psychiatrist by training and is committed to bioethics at Wits University. She is dedicated to the protection of vulnerable populations in research, as evidenced by her active involvement in Research Ethics Committees at Wits. Prof. Vorster's special interest is research ethics.

Professor Trefor Jenkins
Honorary Professor - Steve Biko Centre for Bioethics
Qualifications: MD (London), Honorary MD (Wits), Honorary Doctor of Science (UCT).
Professor Jenkins has made a very significant contribution to medicine, ethics and genetics at Wits University. Professor Jenkins is currently Professor Emeritus and Honorary Professorial Research Fellow in the Department of Human Genetics, National Health Laboratory Services. He has been an honorary professor at the Steve Biko Centre for Bioethics since 2007. Professor Jenkins special interest is ethical issues in genetics.
