
The Centre for Exercise Science and Sports Medicine has been established to develop aspects of teaching (primarily postgraduate), research and service provision in the fields of exercise science and sports medicine. The Centre aims to:
The Centre undertakes projects with sporting macro bodies and federations, promotes sport performance by increasing participation, and develops and provides talent identification and scientific and medical support. This includes a large project with South African Football which led up to the 2010 World Cup, Disability Sport and other sports. The Wits Centre for Exercise Science and Sports Medicine was launched in October 2004. It is situated on the Wits Education Campus, St Andrews Road, Parktown.
