They cover topics such as industrial relations; the attraction and retention of key talent; training and motivation of employees; compensation; and the ways in which to drive maximum productivity. They also deal with current topical issues such as HIV/Aids in the workplace and affirmative action.
Management courses deal with the theory and practice of management and organisational behaviour and include the role of managers; managing individuals, groups and teams; leadership; and organisational development. The important and complex area of project management is also covered in detail, as is the area of strategic management. At the third year level, the Management III Entrepreneurship course introduces students to the theory and practice of entrepreneurship and new venture creation, and exposes them to the practicalities of setting up and running their own business.
