The Centre for Applied Legal Studies (CALS) and the Wits Law Clinic have a vacancy available for a candidate attorney to start in January 2013, who will serve one year of her/his articles at CALS and the other year at the Wits Law Clinic.

The Wits Law Clinic provides access to justice to poor and marginalised communities in greater Johannesburg in the form of legal assistance and representation to clients on a range of legal problems such as divorces and custody disputes, labour matters, criminal matters, contractual claims, consumer-related matters, delictual claims, evictions, housing and land-related matters.

CALS is a leading human rights centre which undertakes research, strategic litigation, and public interest advocacy.  CALS currently runs five Programmes namely Basic Services, Education, Environment, Gender and Rule of Law.  The candidate attorney will support the work of all of these Programmes.
