Important Note: The School of Law will implement a new curriculum for the LLM by Coursework and Research Report from 2013.  The curriculum on this page applies only to students already registered under the previous rules.

Click here for the 2013 curriculum.  Students registered under previous rules may complete their degree under the old rules subject to General Rule 7.5, or they may convert to the 2013 rules. A student wishing to convert must fulfil all the requirements of the 2013 rules.  Credits or exemptions may be granted for certain units or unit requirements subject to CLM17.4.11.

SPECIALISATION IN THE FIELD OF COMMUNICATIONS LAW

a) A Research Report the field of Commercial Law
b) Three of the following units, two of which are to be completed as core units:

• Access to Information and Privacy Law
• Advanced Administrative Law
• Advanced Broadcasting Law
• Cyberlaw (Information Technology Law)
• Media Law
• Space and Satellite Law
• Telecommunications Law

c) One unit that can be chosen from any of the fields
d) Satisfactory attendance of the Research Methodology course

SPECIALISATION IN THE FIELD OF CORPORATE LAW

a) A Research Report in the field of Corporate Law
b) Company Law I
c) At least two of the following units, of which one or two must be completed at core level depending on whether Company Law I is taken at core or non core level:

• Company Law II
• Advanced Contract Law
• Competition Law
• Human Rights and the Marketplace
• Intellectual Property Law
• International Trade Law
• Law of Banking and Finance

d) One unit that can be chosen from any of the fields
e) Satisfactory attendance of the course Research Methodology

SPECIALISATION IN THE FIELD OF ENVIRONMENTAL LAW

a) A Research Report  in the field of Enviromental Law
b) Environmental and Sustainable Development Law at core level
c) Two of the following units, one of which must be completed as a core unit:

• Advanced Administrative Law

• Integrated Pollution Control and Waste Law
• Law of Banking and Finance

• Land and Water Law

d) One unit that can be chosen from any of the fields

a) A Research Report in the field of Human Rights Advocacy and Litigation
b) Human Rights Advocacy and Litigation Law at core level
c) At least two of the following units, one of which is to be completed at core level:

• Advanced Bill of Rights Jurisprudence
